ENTREVISTA ANDREW BAGGALEY

Borges Grup Vall: from the edge to semis with BAGGALEY
20/01/2009 -

Borges Grup Vall had tough match in quarter-finals of the ETTU Cup. Team from Spain eliminated French Pontoise with dramatic 3:2 win. The crucial wins went to Andrew's BAGGALEY record. "Everyone in club is very satisfied with the result of the ETTU Cup quarter-finals victory over the very strong Pontoise. With 1.000 spectators in attendance every victory was crucial but I feel my 3:2 victory with 15:13 final win with the match score poised at 2:2 over Peter FRANZ and my victory over CHIANG Peng-Lung was a special moment for me and Borges Grup Vall", said Andrew BAGGALEY.

The first leg of the semi-final of the ETTU CUP in Victoria Moscow on 31 January 2009 will be crucial to the outcome of the match.

"We expect a very difficult match but are confident of our chances if all the team play on top form!"Nevertheless, team looking forward semi final duels. "With all the players in Borges Grup Vall's, HU Bin, Jose-Louis ANDRADE and myself and managament there is a great team spirit". It will not be easy to beat Russians on their home soil."I believe the Victoria Moscow team has great strength in depth and all the team are 'dangerous' players! Borges Grup Vall did beat Victoria Moscow in the second qualification stage in 2007/08 but this year they have a much stronger squad! "

Can Borges win the title in ETTU Cup?

"Without doubt Borges Grup Vall can win the ETTU Cup in 2009 but it will take all of the team to play to their full potential in all matches. Borges Grup Vall have had to qualify from the first Qualification stage to reach this position which is already a massive achievement!" English table tennis champion is satisfied with the playing conditions in Spain."The Spanish Table Tennis Super League is now definitely one of the strongest leagues in Europe and its always an ambition of the Club to, at least, finish in a top 6 position and therefore qualify for an end of season Play-off position and again have the opportunity to compete in the ETTU Cup", said Andrew BAGGALEY.
